About Me

Hello there! Welcome to my blog. My name is Eileen McDonald and my goal is to take you along my magical journey of living and working in Disney World for 365 days!

I am a 20 year old Canadian girl who has lived in Winnipeg, aka "Winterpeg", Manitoba my whole life. The past two years I have been in Red River College’s two year diploma program for Hospitality and Tourism Management. I made the decision to enter this program right after high school, and later decided to major in Hotel and Restaurant Management. I  have always been intrigued by this sector of the business world. The people, excitement, glamour, FOOD... these are just a few words to sum it up.

So a part of Red River College's Hospitality and Tourism Management program is that they set you up with a job placement after each semester. This is called a COOP placement. As I realized this was my last COOP work term before I graduate, I decided I wanted to explore and move away! I wanted to do something adventurous, memorable, and I wanted a placement that would allow me to continue to learn and apply the needed skills for this industry. I wanted to learn how to interact with people from all over the world and gain the best customer service skills possible.
So off to Disney World in Orlando, Florida it is! I applied as a Canadian Cultural Representative in Epcot's Canadian Pavilion in the food and beverage section.

Keep viewing my blog to see the steps I took and what my life is like now in Orlando, Florida working for the mouse! Also, do not hesitate to leave any comments or ask any questions if you are interested in Disney's programs! Viewing other Disney candidate's blogs helped me greatly, and I hope mine will do the same!

For you to bring a smilin face and represent the canadian culture in such a positive way will be at a great benefit for the employers who have hired you. Have a Blast girl and show them how much fun us canadians can have!!! Love Dallas.
